I’m Ready to Come Home

Luke 15:16-18, New International Version

16 He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.
17 “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! 18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.

A. My way keeps hurting me.  

  1. My life is a mess
  2. I’m hungry and cannot be filled
  3. Nobody wants to help me

B. The fog from "sin"sational overload has worn off and now I feel what I have been missing - home felt safe, secure and supportive; chasing sensations has left me vulnerable, unprotected and alone.  

C. I am humble enough to acknowledge the wrong I have done.  I would rather go back to my father seeking forgiveness in his house, than live outside of his house suffering!  My pride hurts too much! - I’m ready to come home!
