And Also Some Women

And Also Some Women

Luke 8:1-3, New International Version

The Parable of the Sower
8 After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, 2 and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out; 3 Joanna the wife of Chuza, the manager of Herod’s household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means.
  1. Whole women who were willing to reengage the source of their restoration through a radical and life-changing relationship - Jesus transformed their lives and they were not afraid to follow their Redeemer.
  2. Wealthy women whose status was greater than the men who stood at the center.
  3. Generous women who supported the work of Jesus and the Twelve with their own resources.
